It is time to get festive as we celebrate Christmas and the end of the semester at our Christmas LAN. We are going to get the society Christmas tree out with Secret Santa presents underneath! If you would like to take part in Secret Santa, fill out the Google form here: https://goo.gl/forms/7thDCUL0WOb6V8b83

This LAN we have our weekend-long multi-round IronLAN tournament as well as a selection of PC based tournaments including CS:GO Gun Game, 3v3 League of Legends and Golf With Your Friends. We will have prizes for each tournament and a prize raffle at the end of the weekend!

We are also planning some scheduled games throughout the weekend for you to get involved in if you wish- we are going to be playing Civilisation 6 Friday night with more to be announced.

As well as our PC based events we have the usual setup of consoles, board games, quiz (this time done by quiz master James Bentley), Werewolves, Magic: The Gathering draft, 1000 Blank Cards party game and more

If you get peckish throughout LAN, we have an onsite tuckshop to keep you going for the whole weekend as well as multiple food order choices to keep you fed and healthy! The D block rooms are open as usual for sleeping as well so bring a sleeping bag if you are not heading home to sleep :)

We also offer a LAN van service for computer pick ups and drop offs which will collect from your home or by your halls ready for the start of the event on Friday and will drop off on Sunday.

This LAN tickets will be cheaper at £11 for LSUCS members and £16 for non members and are available from lan.lsucs.org.uk/tickets.

Group seatings are available this LAN and can be arranged through your account page on lan.lsucs.org.uk/account. Don't know who to sit with? Then join our Newcomers group- just type "Newcomers" in the seating form and meet new people like yourself to play games with!

Wait, didn't we recently increase the cost of LAN tickets because of the increased room booking fees? Why are we going back on that decision. Especially with the lack of attendees at last LAN

I would expect it's specifically due to the lack of attendees at last LAN

I mean, I guess that's one way to try and increase turnout, but if you get an equally poor turnout this LAN you're even more in the shit financially.
Ticket pricing is one of the many reasons I'm glad I'm not on committee.

It will be in the minutes that are delayed.

    The main reason is:
James France price increase is about £300 more
Van is now only £100 pound (so save £100)
We are going to trial this LAN without freebees so that saves more money so the price increases are countered by the van decrease and freebees

It is partially due to us worried about ticket price affect on attendees as a reason people didn't come and also thinking back to Formal LAN as well which was another £15 LAN which had lower attendance that expected.
